*Job Title : Unix/Solaris Senior System Administrator* *Location : Pleasanton, CA* *Duration : 3-4 Month contract* * * ****** This is an IMMEDIATE NEED !! ****** Minimum requirements for this position include 5+ years of experience in the IT field with Unix environments; a BS or AS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience); and advanced level knowledge of Unix environments and all aspects of the primary product, program and technologies. You must also have the ability to function independently with minimal oversight/direction and instruct, guide and mentor lower level technical professionals. Proven ability to interface with non-technical users. Skills Required: Include but not limited to: Unix/Solaris. Emphasis on IBM Solaris 8- 10. Must possess skills in these areas as well: Veritas volume manager, Veritas clustering,VxVM, VxFS, VCS and SFRAC, SAMFS, Solaris Zones, and Sun LDM. Proficiency with UNIX kernels, Networking, Web, hardware configuration, support and maintenance, network protocols, system security, various commercial UNIX applications. Working knowledge of Solaris Operating environment, EMC and IBM Shark Storage Devices, Tape Drives, and related UNIX technologies. Exposure to Oracle, Sybase, UDB, Web application, Java, Web sphere, and other related UNIX applications.
