Job Title: Oracle DBA Location: Columbus, Ohio Duration: 4+ Months C2C Rate: $32.00
Description: Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standards and procedures, access methods and time, validation checks, organization and statistical methods. Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery. Executes database software installation, database creations/configurations and loads. Roles and Responsibilities: * Participate in developing client database security standards, guidelines and operational policies and procedures through Database Working Group participation * Develop and document repeatable , reusable database build standards incorporating database security requirements in the build process * Review physical structures * Review SQL performance and Tuning * Reviewing application's access against standard DBMS Role Based Strategy and ensuring compliancy; where non-compliant PSES exception must be submitted * Develop and implement backup & recovery strategies * Coordinate, review and implement standard database monitoring tools (e.g. OMS, Tivoli, SQL maintenance jobs) * Consult, Develop & implement database migration plans * Perform Disaster recovery switch-over / fail-over activities prior to go-live * Develop database administration tools/utilities/operation procedures * Developing & maintaining naming standards for database objects such as table spaces, tables, indexes & views Skills: * Must have knowledge of IT concepts such as DB design, DB layout, DB structures, DB stored procedures, DB tables, DB optimization, TCP/IP, IT security concepts and practices; interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills. * Knowledge and practical experience with: AIX, SUN Solaris, Linux, LDAP, Proficient Shell scripting skills * Display a good understanding of both the RDBMS and the underlying operating system including but not limited to: o Database performance tuning, replication, Data Guard, High Availability (Oracle RAC), monitoring tools and tuning procedures. o Strong database management skills including backup and recovery best practices in a high-availability environment. * Solid skills in productivity factors and the ability to understand impact of problem on overall database performance * Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes * Strong skills in maintenance tools and best practices processes. * Up-to-date understanding of PII Security standards and impacts to security modelling. * Ability to independently provide project cost and time estimates for database related tasks _________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks & Regards, Kiran Raj | Halcyon Solutions Inc [cid:[email protected]] Direct: 614-408-8490 | Fax: 614-552-9095 Email: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> | IM: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Web: www.halcyonit.com<blocked::http://www.halcyonit.com/> 5880 Innovation Drive, Dublin (Columbus), Ohio 43016 [cid:[email protected]] P Save trees.
