The work comprises all aspects of Oracle Database Administration with tasks including
* Logical & physical database design * Building/upgrading instances adhering to bank deployment and security standards * Assisting application teams to resolve performance issues and coordinating with unix/storage teams when required * Assisting application teams in utilizing Oracle technologies to satisfy business and operational requirements * Provide expert database knowledge to the customers * Ability to work independently and resolve complex Oracle issues * Proactive monitoring of the databases * Setting up and resolving issues with Oracle Data Guard environments * Experience in task automation * Scripting language (ksh, PERL) Requirement:
* Min. experience of 10 yr. required with some recent experience in a large bank or financial institution * Experience with VLDB is a plus, ASM, RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMANis required Strong experience in Performance tuning
* Strong development and production support experience within a large financial organization & good communication skills * Must be able to tune complex queries * Heterogeneous replication knowledge (Oracle <--> Sybase) * Oracle 9i and 10g Database Administration and Management on Solaris and Linux environments * Good knowledge of Oracle internals * Proven track record in supporting development and production activities simultaneously in a large environment * Oracle Database Tuning and Performance - usage of stats pack, AWR, ADDM, ASH and UNIX native commands
* Oracle DataGuard Physical Standby configuration, build and support including DataGuard Broker * Storage considerations for Oracle Database Performance * Oracle backup and recovery configuration and procedures using RMAN as well as SQL Backtrack * VCS HA configuration * RAC on Linux as well as Solaris * OID setup, upgrades, troubleshooting and administration * Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control for environment standardization * Must be able to work after hours and on weekend frequently * Experience with Exadata a big plus Sincerely,
