Position Title: Infrastructure Engineer Job Location: 1280 Maryland Avenue, Washington DC Preferred Start Date: ASAP Legal Status in USA: GC/US Citizen/H-1 B Education/Training/Certifications required: BS degree: Candidate Pay Rate: 55-60/hr C2C Job Description:Client is in the process of making system enhancements to the Claims Adjudication Engine. There are new Test environments and infrastructure that will be developed to support this effort - looking for a candidate capable of working from day one a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME); able to analyze the current test environments and design new Test environments. In additional the candidate will be required to develop the detailed technical approach including tasks and associated timeline that support on-going development in the existing environments while concurrently implementing the new environments on a mainframe and mid-tier platforms by 12/31/09.
Tasks: 1. Develop and Implement an infrastructure strategy that will support the creation of several new Test environments (mainframe and Midrange) and its associated requirements. 2. Provide daily technical support for the new environments. 3. Analyze and recommend improvements to support Environment Management and Configuration Management process initiatives. 4. Provide Production Environment and Infrastructure support for the Project. 5. Support FTE SMEs in maintaining current (Test/Production) environments and infrastructure. 6. Create all necessary documents and communicate to the team in support of the project. 7. Provide pre and post implementation support for Test and Production environments. 8. Conduct training and knowledge transfer on new environments with FTEs. General Required Skills: 1. The internal drive, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn, and desire to help the customers succeed 2. Strong technical skills 3. Comfortable working under Project Manager supervision 4. Ability to work proactively Specific Required Skills: 1. Infrastructure engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience with: a. Experience building robust test environments b. Environment Infrastructure Build and Automation c. Extensive DB2 Database experience d. Extensive SDLC experience e. Ability to analyze and trouble-shoot Mid-tier/Mainframe infrastructure issues f. Must have Project Management skills g. Great communication and people skills 2. Mid-tier/Mainframe platforms and their associated Operation Systems and Tools including: a. WebSphere MQ / MQ Series b. DB2 UDB c. CICS d. UNIX e. AIX f. REXX g. MVS Additional Specific Skill sets Sought: 1. Enterprise Service Bus 2. Business Rules Engines 3. Java 4. LDAP/RACF 5.
