*1 year long contract * *Bothel, WA * *Job Description:*** Oracle DBA with excellent Unix skills: Roles and responsibilities: 1) Provide Database Administration support for business critical applications in production and non-production environments. 2) Provide 24 x 7 on-call support in rotation with other team members. 3) Administer Oracle Databases on Sun Solaris Server. Design, deploy and tune Oracle 10G environments 4) Utilizing appropriate tools; develop and deploy an efficient and effective backup/restore data recovery schemes using Oracle RMAN. Test as required to insure recoverability 5) Monitor and optimize the database performance through database, system and SQL tuning. Execute database performance tests to simulate the application load on the database. Develop required scripts to properly monitor and report error conditions. Respond as necessary to all outages to meet availability (SLA) needs. 6) Apply Oracle patches that involve security patches / bug fixes in non-production and production environments. 7) Collaborate with the development team in data modeling, conceptual design and data architecture design. 8) Develop and support database maintenance scripts. Develop and maintain database design and support documentation *Technical Experience:* 1) 5 + years of DBA Experience in Design, Implementation & Supporting databases primarily Oracle (9i & 10g. 11g is a plus) on a UNIX platform 2) 3+ years Handling Medium to Large Scale, High availability Operations 3) Extensive usage of Performance & Troubleshooting Tools & Techniques.
