We have an urgent requirement for Teradata Architect / BI Architect .

Requirement.
The Teradata Consultant / BI Architect will work with leading Los
Angeles based company to assess their custom software development/
architecture needs, will create solutions, and will be part of a team
responsible for the successful delivery of the optimal business
solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Skills Required:
· Expert knowledge of Teradata RDBMS including system setup,
configuration, support and administration; physical database design,
implementation and tuning; and application design, development and
support.
· Experience developing logical data models using tools such as ERwin
and Visio.
· Experience designing and implementing high performance physical data
models in Teradata.
· Experience with Teradata utilities including: FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP
and BTEQ. Teradata SQL, stored procedures, and TASM.
Senior Teradata Architect to support the development, maintenance and
performance tuning of enterprise level Data Warehouse.
Core Skills:
Well Versed in TD 12.x data mart designs and data modeling using ERWIN
tool with at least 1 full implementation (analysis/design to
production)
Well Versed in implementation of the Data Model DDL and
troubleshooting any TD issues that may be pertinent to Company
policies and/or TD syntax or partitioning issues or fallback issues or
compression issues (need real world experience in actual projects)
Strong experience in handling queries from Business Analysis, ETL
(INFORMATICA) and BI ( BOBJ etc) development teams to tweak the Data
Model design to accommodate application specific workarounds
(aggregate, snapshot, staging, bridge tables etc) for TD query or
batch performance (TTU tools such as BTEQ, MLOAD,FLOAD, Fast Export
etc)
TD database query optimization for performance issues related to spool
and temp space issues and general Skew report issues
Self starter and independent contributor and team player
Other preferred skills:
TD storage and capacity planning and forecasting - Ability to forecast
TD storage needs (DASD) for the recommended data model with Year 1-10
growth estimates
Provide workarounds to overcome infrastructure limitations in MKTDB
(departmental database issues or constraints)
Generate Data Dictionary with technical and functional metadata about
the data model using ERWIN or other tools for ongoing maintenance
Provide a process to improve data quality of the various source
systems and/or improve the data mart data quality during
implementation and post Go Live
Soft Skills Required:
· Able to communicate with management and business communities to
identify key requirements and explain technical issues to non-
technical resources
· Ability to coach less experienced resources
Additional Requirements:
· Understanding of BI methodology and requirements gathering for BI
· Completed several Business Intelligence project life cycles.
· Completed Data Quality concepts such as Master Data Management, Data
Governance and Data Stewardship
· Understanding of leading technologies in Business Intelligence
(Teradata, ORACLE, IBM, Microsoft, etc.)
· Strong SQL skills
· Strong Data Analysis and Architect skills:
· Works in a Data Warehouse environment, which includes data design,
data integration, database architecture, metadata and reporting
creation.
· Translate business needs into long-term information architecture
solution.
· Defines designs and builds dimensional databases.
· Responsible for developing data warehouse blueprints, evaluating
hardware and software platforms and integrating systems.
· Strong in data modeling (Normalization, Star Schema, )
· Strong in data architecture (Data Warehousing, ODS, Data Marts,
Staging):
