Can you send me candidates within 24 hours? This role is located here in Redmond, WA and local candidates to the Seattle area only. Description: This is a short term (3-4month) vendor contract position that will focus on porting and developing test code on the Linux platform. The vendor will also be responsible for development, testing and debugging code, utilizing test code to produce performance data on Linux and documenting their results. An ideal candidate will have a strong background developing on Linux in C or C++ (preferred), a strong understanding of POSIX threads, Linux networking APIs and Linux-specific AIO (asynchronous IO) models (i.e. epoll, select, poll). The vendor would also be executing and validating benchmark runs on both Linux and Windows. This will require interacting with developers, pm's and other testers to gather feedback. Must have: . 5+ years of development background . Linux TCP/UDP sockets programming . Linux multithreaded programming . Experience with autoconf, makefiles, gcc, g++, gdb . Knowledge of network programming, POSIX threads and AIO (asynchronous IO) models on Linux . Development experience with C++, . High-performance/efficient/scalable coding experience . Excellent written and verbal communication skills Nice to have: . Strong test background o Knowledge of reading and contributing to test plans o Experience writing test automation o Experience with writing and executing test cases . Comfortable working with SQL . Windows TCP/UDP Winsock programming . Low-latency networking background . Experience with performance tunings for Linux . Experience with performance tracing and monitoring on Linux . Comfortable working with SQL .
