*SUMMARY:*

The Back Office IT department develops and maintains applications to support
the Accounting and Operations functions of HMC.  The group designs,
develops, implements, and supports applications and systems employed by
these departments, and for other company departments that interact with
them. The Application Developer is responsible for developing, acquiring,
integrating, testing and maintaining client-server applications, as well as
integration of those applications with Front, Middle, and other Back Office
systems.



*Development Environment/Tools*: Java (JBoss, GWT/GXT), .Net, C#, SQL



*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

·         Design, Develop, acquire, integrate, test, maintain and support
software to meet Back Office department’s needs

·         Provide ongoing support to internal customers of new and existing
applications

·         Assist internal customers to resolve unexpected issues that may
affect the day-to-day operations.

·         Communicate with outside service vendors/providers to resolve
processing issues.

·         Work independently and with development team to meet department
objectives

·         Write technical and user documentation to support new and existing
applications

·         Manage responsibilities pertaining to business continuity
preparedness, documentation, Disaster Recovery site visits, etc.

·         Participate in other significant/strategic projects as required

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

* *

·         BS in CS or Engineering (or related field) required

·         Minimum 5 years of programming experience in Java.

·         Minimum 2 years experience supporting investment risk and/or
performance users

·         Experience with SunGard VPM and InvesTran is desirable.

·         Experience with Murex is desirable

·         Relational database programming and design experience required
(SQL Server, Sybase)

·         Knowledge of GWT, AJAX and related technologies

·         Knowledge of the object-oriented design concepts and Design
patterns required.

·         Knowledge of and experience with Unix and Windows platforms
including writing shell and command scripts

·         Very good analytical skills.

·         Ability to handle multiple project assignments

·         Ability to work with a variety of co-workers in a team environment


·         Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to
communicate confidently with all levels of management
