Job Description : Unix/Linux application expert The candidate should have a keep technical knowledge in Linux/Unix based application support and ideally have some hands on experience with Windows 2003 and Sybase/MS SQL. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision. Furthermore the candidate is also expected to guide our outsourced teams, by scheduling appropriate work, providing them with new intelligent solutions for their daily operations. This allows the metro resources to remain in a continuous improvement and escalation role. Responsibilities: . System management and upkeep of the production environment . Problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, escalation and notification. . Run book documentation - inventories, problem resolution processes, documentation . Testing of upgrades and change management Skills Required . Self starter with good interpersonal skills to facilitate working with end-users and other IT colleagues. . Excellent communications skills . Professional ownership of issues . Good organizational skill; Ability to plan and prioritize . Strong Analytical Skills . Proven troubleshooting skills in a support environment . Strong sense of commitment and drive towards problem resolution . Use of initiative and proactive approach to work . Experience working in a fast paced, changing environment . Able to execute job functions with minimal guidance Required Technical skills . In-Depth Unix/Linux knowledge . MS SQL/Sybase knowledge .
