I can't really summarise that better than Katrin already has.. I simply can't
justify the hours of time it would take for me to filter through 190 comments,
mailing list threads and irc conversations to understand such a large change
and make sure all the angles have been covered.
As such I could not, and would not, even begin to QA this. An RFC should serve
as a summary of said comments and conversations simply showing the
conversations have taken place and what the agreed outcomes were of those
conversations.
I don't believe this bug will progress further without such a summary in
existence. It's all a learning process of course, most of the support companies
have been in a similar place at some point and we've tried to learn the lessons
from it.
