I think this Bug is about additional fields under administration (cgi-bin/koha/admin/additional-fields.pl) and not about patron attributes (borrower_attributes), see title of this bug. For additional fields it is the case that if they are searchable they are also always displayed in the result list. What we would like is the option to distinguish between 'Searchable' and 'Display in result list'.
