The ILLRequestsTabs system preference allows libraries to create custom tabs on
the main ILL requests page.
At present, the tabs can only be configured using the main ILL request
statuses.
This limits the usefulness of the feature for libraries that use ILL status
aliases to reflect local ILL workflows.
At UAL, ILL staff use local status aliases to manage stages of the request
workflow. Examples include statuses such as:
- Referred for purchase consideration
- Purchased
- Renewed
These aliases are more meaningful to staff than the underlying main ILL
statuses. ILL colleagues would like to be able to create tabs based on these
local workflow statuses, so that the main ILL requests page can better support
day-to-day ILL request management.
