I had noticed recently that when merging bib records the 942$0 is a problem because while the 942 cannot be repeated (you cannot choose to save the 942$0 from each merged record) it also doesn't update the count when merging. So unless a cataloger manually tracks each merged record's 942$0, totals them, and manually updates the 942$0 after merge, those statistics are lost. This is different from how Koha handles merges with holds and items. If this patch was applied, would there be a way to add together the column totals when merging?
