The reason why I have opted initially for a pure Javascript workaround was to get a sense of what the UI could look like, and because I think the existing XML-based system might not work for positions that are a range instead of a single position? Bug 11669 talks about MARC 008 builder having URLs for MARC country/language codes, but I'm guessing that might be old functionality? -- In any case, I'm interested in this one for sure. I think it's a very reasonable change to make.
