Bug ID: 43890
Summary: Logging in from OPAC search results saves the current
anonymous search despite
LoadSearchHistoryToTheFirstLoggedUser set as Don't add
Initiative type: ---
Sponsorship ---
status:
Product: Koha
Version: 25.11
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5 - low
Component: OPAC
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
QA Contact: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
Configuration: LoadSearchHistoryToTheFirstLoggedUser = Don’t add
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the OPAC in a fresh browser session, signed out.
2. Perform a keyword search for “pottery”.
3. Perform a second keyword search for “photography”.
4. While on the results page for “photography”, sign into a user account.
5. Open the account’s search history.
Results observed in 25.11.08:
Only the most recent search entry (“photography”) appears in the account’s
search history. The earlier search (“pottery”) is not added.
Expected result:
Signing in from a search results page should not cause the preceding anonymous
search to be recorded against the logged in user’s search history when
LoadSearchHistoryToTheFirstLoggedUser is disabled.
Additional observations:
In our testing, this occurs when signing in directly from the search results
page, not when going back to the OPAC homepage and logging in from there.
Anonymous/not logged in searches are otherwise not imported with
LoadSearchHistoryToTheFirstLoggedUser set as Don't add.
The fact that only the current search is recorded suggests that the search may
rerun after logging into the user account, rather than the anonymous search
entry being logged as part of the logged in user's search history. This hasn't
been confirmed.
On shared public OPACs, this can result in a search initiated by a previous
user appearing in the next user’s account history.
