Hi Chris, I am not sure if the <item> syntax is available in PREDUE and PREDUEDGST notices, but I also spot a error in your pasted template. In order for it to work you need a closing </item> at the end.
<item>"<<biblio.title>>" by <<biblio.author>>, <<items.itemcallnumber>>, Barcode: <<items.barcode>></item> Also make sure all item fields are on one line, with no line breaks. Safest bet is using <<items.content>>. It's the older syntax and should work. I know for sure it does in 3.2.x.
