Yes it is possible to add new item type. This is how you do it; Log in to you Koha (staff client) Go to Koha Administration. Under Koha Administration, Basic Parameters, go to Item Types. You will see a button labeled New Item Type click on it . Then you will see Add Item Type. Type in the code for your item type e.g. BK for Book/Books and the description for your item type e.g Books or JL if your tem type is Journal. Then lastly choose an icon if you need one from the options available seshat, vokal etc and click on save changes button.
