[Koha] How do I change an item's type?

Hi, I'm trying to change an items type, from "Book" to "Movie", but Koha 
won't do it.

This is with koha 17.11.05, running on debian stretch with mariadb, 
plack and memcached.  It doesn't show any error messages, it just 
ignores the action.

Is this a known bug?
