I am a librarian who is trying to use Koha. I saw your email concerning
about excel to koha and I would like to request you to guide us about
converting from excel to koha.
We have one books list which has only author, title fields in excel and
we would like to import to koha. I know that iit is not possible to
convert directly.
Since you have a very good knowledge of koha, please guide us for the
process.

You cannot use MS Excel files to load data into Koha.
To load user data you can use a CSV file (MS Excel can deal with that)
with a structure depending on your Koha version. The respective
struchture you can find in Koha menu "Tools > Import patrons" - on the
right side you will find the sentence "Download a starter CSV file with
all the columns here." The HERE is clickable and downloading it will
give you the structure valid for Koha 19.11:

Be sure to download the correct structure for your own Koha version.
To load title and/or item data you will need original MARC or MARCXML
files. Unlike to CSV MS Excel is not able to deal with them at all.
