>

>
> Greeting over a thousand construction workers, President Milosevic
>said "no doubt this day cannot be marked better than it is marked by our
>people by these really impressive results in the construction and rebuilding
>of the country.
>
> Our country has given an example to the entire world how a country
>is defended, and after the end of the war how a country is built.
>
> The high standards that were adopted during rebuilding and
>construction have become a new heritage of our skill, our economy, of our
>workers and we expect to apply those standards on other enterprises that we
>intend to launch.
>
> The next one that lies ahead, parallel with the conclusion of the
>second phase, will be a large project of 10,000 flats, President Milosevic
>said.
>
> "These qualities, standards, of short time limits, low expenses
>and high quality should be confirmed also in this new housing project," the
>Yugoslav President said.
>
> And the project, along with large public works since the
>aggression to date, which will be continued and further intensified, will be a
>driving force for the further increase of industrial production in many
>fields, Milosevic added.
>
> "I believe that the project will be successfully realized and this
>huge result and job is the best response of a proud people to world killers
>and destroyers," the Yugoslav President said.
>

>said the high patriotic awareness of all citizens, the great unity of the
>people and leadership, headed by Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, and
>the resolve to defend national freedom and independence - were the main
>obstacle which stopped the enemy in its attempts to subjugate and enslave
>Yugoslavia with their insatiable military, political and economic appetites.
>
> "The unity and solidarity of the entire people was again confirmed
>in the urgent and efficient national reconstruction which continues intensely
>today, together with the stepped up development of the republic," Marjanovic
>said.

>
> KOSOVO ALBANIAN TERRORISTS BRUTALLY MURDER ETHNIC CZECH AGED 87
>
> PRISTINA, April 6 (Tanjug) - Ethnic Albanian terrorists brutally
>murdered Metodije Haljauska, 87, an ethnic Czech, in Pristina's Grmija Park on
>Sunday, April 3, the Center for Peace and Tolerance said on Thursday. The
>terrorists abused Haljauska in his apartment in downtown Pristina before they
>shot him in the back of the head in the park.
>
> The center said the only possible reason for this murder could be
>that Haljauska was not an ethnic Albanian. All non-Albanians in Serbia's
>Kosovo and Metohija province are now intimidated by ethnic Albanians, the
>center said. They receive disturbing and threatening phone calls and are
>exposed to constant pressure.
>

> SECURITY COUNCIL MISSION TO VISIT KOSOVO-METOHIJA ON APRIL 28-29
>
> MOSCOW, April 6 (Tanjug) - The U.N. Security Council delegation
>which will visit Serbia's Kosovo and Metohija province on April 28-29 will
>have the task to see the situation in the field and determine the reasons for
>the non-implementation and violations of Resolution 1244 on Kosovo and
>Metohija, Russian Foreign Ministry Information and Press Department Director
>Alexander Yakovenko said in Moscow on Thursday.
>
> The task of the mission is to determine ways for strengthening
>support to the realization of this resolution, and the results of the visit
>will be considered at a Security Council session, he said.
>
> The delegation will be headed by Bangladeshi Ambassador to the
>U.N. Anwarul Chowdhury and will include representatives of Russia, China,
>Ukraine, France and some other countries, Yakovenko said.
>
> The Yugoslav authorities will be informed about the decision to
>send the mission to Kosovo and Metohija.
>
> The Russian diplomat said the decision was a result of intensive
>negotiations and serious mistakes in the timely and complete execution of
>Resolution 1244, which Russia had systematically indicated at council sessions
>and at other international forums. Moreover, Russia regularly points out gross
>violations of the most important articles of this resolution, primarily the
>principle of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of
>Yugoslavia, he said.
>
> On more than one occasion, the work of the U.N.
>Secretary-General's special representative, Kosovo civilian mission head
>Bernard Kouchner was severely criticized, as well as the international force
>KFOR leadership, Yakovenko said.
>
> Unfortunately, the situation is not improving, he said. This is
>why the Security Council has decided to send its mission to visit Kosovo and
>Metohija.
>

>
> SKOPJE, April 5 (Tanjug) - Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski
>met at his own request in Skopje on Wednesday with KFor Commander in
>Kosovo-Metohija Gen. Klaus Reinhardt to voice deep concern over the April 2
>abduction of four Macedonian border guards.

>describing the incident as very serious, and demanding of Reinhardt that KFor
>do its job and secure the Macedonian-Yugoslav border from the side of that
>U.N.-ruled Serbian (Yugoslav) province.
>
> The border must be secured according to international norms,
>Trajkovski said, stressing that KFor, which has assumed the obligation to
>guard the border on the Kosovo-Metohija side, should cooperate with the
>Macedonian army.
>
> In this way alone is it possible to prevent incidents like the
>abduction of Macedonian soldiers and illegal crossings of the border, he
>stressed.
>
> He addressed a similar message to the NATO command in Brussels and
>to the Ambassadors of Great Britain and Germany in Skopje, the statement said.

>
> GERMAN CDU DEPUTY WARNS EUROPE AGAINST NATO MACHINATIONS
>
> BERLIN, April 6 (Tanjug) - Willy Wimmer, a Christian Democrat
>Union (CDU) deputy to Germany's Bundestag (lower hose of parliament) said on
>Thursday that new clashes between rival factions enjoying support by ethnic
>Albanian Mob chiefs, might soon break out in Kosovo and Metohija, saying that
>the West had no strategy to prevent that. Wimmer called NATO's attention to
>results of last year's war goals that had been trumpeted around, stressing
>that the Yugoslav Army had remained virtually intact.
>
> He speculated as to whether Russia's President-Elect Vladimir
>Putin would just sit back in case of another conflict.
>
> Analysing the latest developments in the Yugoslav Republic of
>Serbia's southern province, Wimmer said that Europe should learn its lesson
>from NATO's aggression on Yugoslavia which had been basically aimed at
>ensuring the Alliance's expansion and at boosting its credibility. These goals
>are best reflected in U.S. efforts to set up the biggest army base since the
>end of the war in Vietnam, in Urosevac, in the southeast of Kosovo and
>Metohija.
>
> Wimmer also pointed to a growing number of reports by Western
>media on ethnic cleansing practised in Kosovo and Metohija by the ethnic
>Albanian terrorist organisation calling itself Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

>
> Conveying the speech of the head of state at a meeting of the
>Ministerial Council that dealt with the action of French troops on Monday in
>Pale in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and about France's cooperation with the
>Tribunal for War Crimes in the territory of the former Yugoslavia in The
>Hague, Colonna said that President Chirac "welcomed the arrest of Krajisnik."
>
> That President Chirac "promised" the arrest of Krajisnik was made
>public, indirectly, by the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal
>Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Carla del Ponte in an interview
>published in the Wednesday edition of Le Monde.
>
> Del Ponte said in the interview that unlike her predecessors she
>never had a problem with regard to cooperation with the French. She indicated
>that Chirac, when he visited The Hague on February 29, drew attention to three
>fugitives who are in the Pale area, including Krajisnik.
>
> Carla del Ponte's predecessor, Louise Arbourd, criticized
