"We will provide legal protection and carry out the privatisation process transparently," Aziz said. He said on Sunday the government had prepared an effective plan and the process, which lagged under the ousted government of nawaz sharif, would soon get a boost. Military ruler General Pervez Musharraf, who ousted Sharif in a military coup in October, has vowed to revamp the country's sagging economy. Aziz said the government planned to privatise two gas companies, among others. He said the government had also prepared a new offer to settle a lingering tariff dispute with the country's largest private sector power company Hubco.
