Unsolved Deaths will be examined by UN

United Nations (UN)'s Special Envoy for Unsolved Deaths is coming to
Turkey.  The UN Special Envoy will examine the cases in Istanbul and
Ankara.  The Special Envoy will also examine Batman Amed where hundreds of
political assassinations took place over last decade.

Ankara government allowed the UN Special Envoy to examine the Unsolved
Death cases after 9 years of the first political assassination took place.
UN Special Envoy Esma Jehangir will be in Turkey between February 19-28.
Special Envoy Jehangir will meet the Interior Ministry officials, Justice
Ministry officials, State Minister in the charge of Human rights, Turkish
Grand Assembly's Human Rights Commission, Head of the Constitutional Court,
head of Supreme Court, and officials from State Security Court (DGM) in
Istanbul and Ankara.  Special Envoy will meet government as well as NGO
officials in Amed and Batman where hundreds of political assassinations
took place between 1992-1998.

Kirmizioglu is still missing

In the meantime, members of TAYAD (The Association of Families of
Detainees) released a statement in which they said that they have not heard
anything from Yusuf Kirmizioglu who was born in 1974 in Hatay since January
6th.  The statement said, "Yusuf Kirmizioglu, Serdar Tanis (HADEP Silopi
Town Chairman who has been missing since he was taken into custody with
Deniz) and Ebubekir Deniz (HADEP official in the town of Silopi) are being
added to the missing person cases which is in thousands".
