Great Socialist Peoples Libyan Arab Jamahiriya Jamahiriya News Agency English News Bulletin Friday 12 zul Qaeda 25 Ay annar, 2002 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great Jamahiriya - Palestine / Support Tripoli / ay annar 25/ Jana The Secretary of the general peoples committee for african unity held a meeting yesterday with Hakam Balawi, a member of the legislative council of the central committee of the PLO who delivered to him a message to the Leader of the Revolution from President Yasser Arafat the hero of the Palestinian resistance and President of the Palestinian state over the latest serious developments in Palestine and the suffering of the Palestinians at the hands of the Zionists-terrorist army. The secretary renewed Great Jamahiryia's absolute support for the Palestinian resistance and for the hero of the Palestinian resistance, Yasser Arafat and denounced the oppressive practices carried out by the Zionist terrorist army. He expressed the readiness of Great Jamahiriya to support the Palestinians and that Great Jamahiriya will engage in intense contacts in order to crystalise an effective Arab stance for the protection of the Palestinian people and lifting the blockade imposed on them. During the meeting Hakam Belawi extended the thanks and gratitude of President Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian people for the Leader of the Revolution and the Libyan people for their suppport and assistance. The head of the defense team made statements to the press published in London yesterday indicating that the appeal will focus on the lack of sound justice basis in various parts concerning the verdict and revealed that the defense team has more fresh evidence that would release the Libyan national Abdel Basset al Megrahi.
