At the same time plans to create provocations failed, as they did the maneuvers by the Government to disorientate the mobilizations and to disrupt their unity, by using the leaderships of GSEE and ADEDI under the title "Greek Social Forum" that called for a separate demonstration.  It is to be mentioned that not only this attempt failed completely in spite of the financial and political support of GSEE, but also its leadership did not even show up in the demonstration, preferring to participate in the discussion that the prime minister mr Simitis had with the "productive classes" at the same time. The representative of "Action-Salonica 2003" Stelios Valanas in his greeting to the demonstrators noted: "Today’s mobilization constitutes one more link to the chain of popular rally that will grow further in front of the EU Summit in our city, where the leaders of EU will try to promote the new anti-popular measures that have been initiated by the capitalist restructures, the Stability Pact and the decisions of the previous EU summits. We shall do our best in order to send a message of resistance, of counterattack, of rupture with the Imperialist New Order that our government supports energetically.
