Urban Studies' Reading Circle: 
�Discussing Governance of European Cities� (3ov/6 ECTS)

Starting: Tuesday 28.9.2004, 14.15 hours.

The aim of the course is to familiarize students to current debate on 
urban governance in social sciences and urban studies. What the urban 
governance discussion is about, what are the main concepts and theories 
within the governance research and debate?

The course is structured as a reading circle with introductory lecture. 
The articles will be dealt out at the lectures and each student will 
present one of the articles. The articles will be discussed together. 
Students will also write an essay as part of the course. 

Course is aimed at advanced master's students and PhD students 
specializing in urban studies or governance issues (for example Social 
Policy, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Urban Planning). However, 
also students interested in urban issues but without prior knowledge of 
the urban studies' governance discussion are welcome!
