Professor D'Costa gives a lecture �Development and Urbanization: Profiling Kolkata, India in a Global Context� at the Department of Social Policy (Yhteiskuntapolitiikan laitos) 30.9, Thursday 14-16, seminar room. Among the books he has written and edited are The Global Restructuring of the Steel Industry: Innovations, Institutions and Industrial Change (1999 London: Routledge) and India in the Global Software Industry: Innovation, Firm Strategies and Development (together with E. Sridharan) (2004 London: Palgrave). In recent years his research has focussed on information technology and software industry, before he has written and published on uneven development, economic development and industrialisation of India.
