Good morning Abhay.

1) Currently there isn't any tutorial o documentation to develop Kosmo plugins. There is only a developer start guide, that helps the user to configure the sources under the Eclipse platform, and it's only available in spanish :-( . We'll have news on the subject soon.

There is a JUMP developer guide available where you can look up some basic aspects about the platform (Kosmo has evolved from it) and it can be used as an initial guide:
http://www.vividsolutions.com/JUMP/bin/JUMP%20Developer%20Guide.pdf

2) There is no plugin developed for the Mapinfo Tab nor MID/MIF files yet. We have developed a ArcSDE driver but it's not ready yet.

3) GDAL libraries are used in the CRS configuration module and the loading of some raster image types.

Greetings,

Hello Lists,

I have been using Kosmo for sometime now and also I have seen the list of Datasource it is able to handle and it was very impress... (kudo to the Dev team of Kosmo :) ).

I have certain queries:

1) I was wondering if there is any tutorial for developing plugins for Kosmo. 2) I wish to know if there is any plugins that is available in Kosmo to handle Mapinfo Tab and/or MID/MIF files as well as ArcSDE. 3) Does in any way Kosmo utility happens to use GDAL/OGR java swig bind in it application. ( as I have seen the presence of JGdal.dll and jars).

I had been googling for the same and but was not lucky enough to find any.

Best Rgds
Abhay.

Abhay,

I'm replying to also state my strong interest in having a plugin to access
ArcSDE (vector and raster). What's more frustating is that there are several
Open Source products that provide this, either in Java (OpenJump, uDig,
GeoServer) and other platforms (GDAL/OGR, MapServer)... So I imagine this would
be fairly fast to integrate, but I'm not a Java developer so I could be wrong.

        compuesto
