Actually, it's not a lisp machine. Apparently BitC isn't even a functional
programming language. I thought it was too at first but was corrected on
the mailing list.

Indeed. I think some day we will have secure machines and the virus
problems etc will be a thing of the past but it is going to take a long
time due to all of the vested interests in keeping things the same.
