Something I found interesting about the article was that it further underscores the claim that Microsoft was unjustly persecuted by the Justice Department. The allegation was that Microsoft was a monopoly, and yet Linux and Google and Firefox, more than anything else right now, are proving that there never was a monopoly.
In practical economic terms Microsoft /is/ a monopoly in the operating system market. In that market Linux is still little more than a Glob Fly.
Immensely profitable business practices, yes. Unethical business practices, I'd say yes. But monopoly? Ha! says Google.

Google is not in Microsoft's market. Yet. Again, Microsoft is a monopoly in the *OS* market, not in the search engine market. Microsoft would like to change the latter of course.
