A reminder that this week's KPLUG General Meeting, on Thurdsay, May 12th, will feature a very special raffle. Thanks to generous donations from some of our members (Andrew Lentvorski in particular!), we have some excellent high-value computer systems and hardware that you can win! Here's how the raffle will work:

Each piece of hardware will be raffled individually. Instead of the usual "first-come-first-serve" method of giving prizes to winners, each piece of hardware will have a container for raffle tickets in front of it. You can buy as many raffle tickets as you like ($5/ea), and place them in the containers of hardware you'd like to win. Spread them around, or put all your tickets in one basket for a better chance at that item!

So what's being raffled? Instead of pasting the long details in this email, it's better that you go visit our new website and see for yourself. The URL of the detail page is:

Scroll down to the "Special Raffle Items" section and see what interests you. And don't forget about our usual $1/ticket raffle for the books you see at the top of the page. That raffle will also be happening, just as it does every month.

Are the raffles the only reasons to attend on Thursday? Absolutely not! Be sure to arrive at the meeting right at 7PM and we'll get started with Lan Barnes' presentation on Rapid Application Development of PostgreSQL C/S applications using Tcl/Tk.

Additionally, everyone in attendance at the meeting will receive a copy of the hot new Ubuntu Linux distribution (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/).

See you there this Thursday!
