I seem to recall something called boa that is used for embedded systems. Might be worth looking at. Find it at <http://www.boa.org> If you have a Windows box running somewhere, there is TinyWeb from Rit Labs <http://www.ritlabs.com>. It's written in Delphi and is only 54K in size and can serve Java applets no problem. I use it to pull stuff off my Windows machines without having to deal with Samba.
