Anecdotally, I would never pay a monthly charge just to download music. I still have a hundred or so CDs I bought in the 90s, and once in a while I'll get some bit of music from the Internet. That's enough for me. But then I heard about the new Yahoo! music download deal: $5 a month, download all you want. I actually started to consider it! My curiosity was quickly quenched by the Windows Media Player requirement.
I am watching this whole "unlimited download but DRM" thing with great interest. I can't imagine that the DRM is going to hold up for long once people decide, "Okay, I got all the music I want, now I can unsubscribe." and find that all their music vaporizes.
