I believe that. So I did my own comparison. Apple: 15.2" 1.67GHz PowerPC G4 512MB 80GB Hard Drive 5400 RPM ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (64 MB DDR) Gigabit Ethernet 8X "SuperDrive" (does everything) Bluetooth Wireless Ethernet FireWire 400 & 800 DVI & S-Video out ================= $3000 Dell: 17" Pentium M 760 (2GHz) 512MB 80GB Hard Drive 7200 RPM 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 Ultra Gigabit Ethernet 8X Everything Drive Bluetooth Wireless Ethernet ================= $3870 It's not entirely fair, because not many people (me for sure) need FireWire or DVI and so on. Also, the Dell has much better graphics (IMO) and a faster hard drive (I hate slow hard drives). Thirdly, this is only the high end; things may be different at the other end. However, if I were buying based on these numbers alone, I'd go Mac in a heartbeat. -todd -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
