That's hard to tell. Do you have some new hardware that's not yet
supported in FC3? Are you needing some feature in the latest version
of gcc? Affirmative answers to those questions might indicate you
might want to wait. It's a pesonal question without clear answers,
unless you have specific needs.

Versions change when core parts of the system change. Go ahead,
upgrade the major version of gcc on your system and see how much of it
still works. Versioning is so end users will know which packages have
been tested and work together. It has absolutely nothing to do with
business-orientation.
