There could be a issue of memory corruption and or page faults.... Another 
thing to remember is when one runs a VM the ring zero is emulated on other VM 
OS's. Clustering does sound like a good solution since the VM's use IP to 
identify each instance.

Hypervisor:
(Wikipedia) A Hypervisor is software which runs on a hardware machine and 
manages one or more operating systems.
