I recently got some work proctoring SATs. Each section of the test has a fixed amount of time. It would be nice if I could use a big count-down timer on a computer screen instead of the wall clock in the classroom or my own watch.
I'm sure there are kitchen-timer style applications for X -- I just don't know what they are. When it search for timer on google or sourceforge.net, I get a lot of hits on libraries and system calls for program profiling -- not exactly what I had in mind. Does anyone know of a GUI count-down timer for Linux? I'd prefer something based on Python, so I could easily hack it if necessary.
