I will demonstrate a few things that can be done with Python:

1. Process output from proprietary applications to produce customized
reports.
2. Automate system admin tasks.
3. Use pygame and pgu to build a kitchen timer.
4. Use Tkinter to make a specialized drawing application.
5. Build a web application with zope, plone and zwiki.

These are all projects in which I have had some involvement.

This talk will focus on the implementation of the various programs, or
modifications to existing programs. I won't discuss why Python is the
best, or even a good choice for these tasks. No comparisons to, or
discussions of, other programming languages will be allowed. (If you
want to do that, schedule your own meeting.)

The December 1 talk will be a warm-up for the December 8 general
meeting.

I'd like to use the same room that we use for the general meeting so
that I can make sure the projector works with my system.
