Oh.  I get it now.  The second command is intended to create a vob
copy of the DVD.  It's intended that the vob be the equivalent of what
was on the DVD.  The -aid switch only filters for the requested audio
stream as it sends audio to the computer screen.  Dumpstream only pays
attention the DVD in the drive.  Which sort of violates the normal
syntactic logic of a GNU/Linux command line, but oh well.
