I took a look at audacity and it just might do the trick for me... I talked to Rob and Jim at the last installfest and we figured Gus'd know but he had to leave... Grip and KBIII (haven't used that one yet) do just fine if you toss in a real CD for CDDB query/rip/convert But I would also like to take a WAV or a FLAC on the hard drive (previously ripped) and run it through an X app (pretty clicky thing) to reproduce the convert stage I do with Grip. Audacity lets me manually put the ID3 tag on an audio file as well as reproduce a lossy mp3/ogg etc. from that HD WAV. FLAC is due to be added in the next round of releases: " Import/export FreeLosslessAudioCodec (FLAC) (10 votes) - importing is implemented in the unstable CVS version. Both importing and exporting will eventually be available in Audacity 1.2.x." http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=FeatureRequests This might work...
