I wanted to download a patent ... unfortuantely the USPTO uses an obscure TIFF format for its image files and I had some difficulty finding and installing the right pplugin for Firefox.
Then I discovered http://www.pat2pdf.org/ You simply fill out a form with your patent search info, in this case I had a patent number already, then the service fetchs the patent, converts it to pdf and you can then download it.
