I think that all Unix and Unix-like OS's have been using the same
timezone code for decades.  See if your Solaris system has zdump and
try exercising it.  If not, you should be able to get source code from
< ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/ >.

I just read some more fine print, and learned that Java SDK and JRE
might use their own timezone code.  Don't know any more than that.
