You could position a vacuum cleaner hose at the air outlet of the
laptop, with the appropriate vacuum attachment of course. Usually
laptops are constructed such that the CPU heatsink is close to the air
outlet. At least you could see how much it affects CPU temp. The more it
does the better the condition of the thermal grease.
