D-link, poor man.
Costumer had a similar problem with similar Equipment, DWL-G520, but not the 
108MBit thing, regular .11g, and a DI-624 as well if I remember correctly.
Ran all unencrypted and quickly understood my comments on how this is Really 
Really Bad, so we went WPA. Turned out the 624 didn't have enough cpu power 
to max out the bandwidth while encrypting it, then the 520 was troublesome, 
so was the d-link wifi card in his stationary machine, 5 meters from the 
router no signal anymore etc etc etc.

We finally solved the issue by putting all this junk on eBay and get a Netgear 
Rangemax plus some Netgear cards.
Works a charm.
(I know the Netgear cards are not the best in terms of signal reception, still 
with consumer style the "one brand" approach is a good idea. The Rangemax 
however is a rather decent device, as long as one wants to attribute "decent" 
to any budget network equipment at all.)
