Perfect!!! Thanks a million!

One thing I've wondered about... is it possible to do a "reverse" split?
Take power from two sources and feed it into a single device? I can
easily see that that could be very problematic, but what do I know...
maybe it can work. We have two redundant circuits fed from different
PDUs, but that doesn't do us any good when a given device has a single
power supply...

Only if you like sparks and fire :O

If you need to give a computer redundant power, then there are server chassis that have redundant power supplies that can each be fed from a different source. You can not, as a matter of course, just put two cords together. There are issues like matching phase and voltage.

Depending on your situation, you might be able to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and if the power fails on one side you can unplug it and move it to the other. There are also automatic switches that can do that for you.

Depending on how important it is for you to keep the power flowing will determine how much you need to spend.
