OK I'm convinced by $50 Linksys WRT54G is crap.
What is a higher quality AP + switch??
I'm guessing $100-$120 for a decent one?
Chris
Which WRT54G?? Version/first four of Serial Number please.
I'm running an older one reflashed with sveasoft's firmware and it works
fine. I also have my spare V4 in the box still, just in case this one
ever dies.
I got a version 8.0 based on first 4 letter of serial number.
Sadly I think Linksys AP's are devolving rather than evolving. I think
I'd be more happy with an older WRT54G.
Chris
Remember, Linksys is part of Cisco. You think Cisco wants to compete
with themselves? If their consumer products are too good, then fewer
people will spend big bucks on something from the Cisco line, even
though there is a market for a middle-of-the-road product line.
So, they have two levels of network products: crap and top-end.
