I understand that the concept is sound for power generation. Karl's
talking about turning his roof into a solar convection tower of sorts,
but you'd probably need to go big or design the roof specifically for
that purpose to get enough air flow to provide significant power eg.

a solar tower based on this idea in the Outback. Can't find the web
site reference for that one though.
Still, it might be a fun home energy project to investigate once I get
through trying to brew butanol in my garage.
