To get *my* email, you have to subpoena either me or AIS. AIS can give
someone access to my *server*, but not my email directly. Sure, I don't
encrypt the whole system (yet--but that's only due to CPU constraints),
but, even so, accessing my email is unlikely to be invisible and
transparent.
If, however, my email is with Yahoo, Microsoft, etc., they can and will
analyze and/or turn over my email with very little hesitation.
