The machine is a Great Quality NX L-515. I believe the correct wireless
driver is rt2500.

Here are the symptoms. Wireless works, but only short distances w/ no
walls in between. All other wireless in the house works fine, so it's not
the router.

I want to

1. install the driver and establish wireless

2. diagnose if possible whether the card is substandard

The machine is under service contract, so if I find the card is bad, I can
get it replaced. But if the problem is something else, I can save myself a
lot of trouble by not struggling to get Fry's to honor their contract.

It is presently running FC6

Some Wifi chipsets+some_laptop_brands_+Linux = Too low default power setting. Try playing with iwlist.

2nd challenge:

I would like to run Skype with my Motorola H605 bluetooth headset. I have
a USB bluetooth dongle model # GBU221. This is on my Toshiba Satellite.
