The machine is under service contract, so if I find the card is bad, I can
get it replaced. But if the problem is something else, I can save myself a

Some Wifi chipsets+some_laptop_brands_+Linux = Too low default power
setting. Try playing with iwlist.
2nd challenge:
I would like to run Skype with my Motorola H605 bluetooth headset. I have
a USB bluetooth dongle model # GBU221. This is on my Toshiba Satellite.
