I'm not sure how I would react. It would probably depend upon my opinion of the seller and the relative value.

Making a couple hundred dollars probably qualifies as smart business deal. Making a couple hundred thousand dollars probably qualifies as taking unfair advantage.

While I might not give him "fair market value", I might actually split the proceeds if it was large enough.
