Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

I suppose I really want a per-application policy.

Actually, if we're on wishlists ...

What I *really* want is for a window manager to scatter windows like expose, but do it in *tiles* so that the same application always goes to the same tile. That way muscle memory (and/or hotkeys) can get me my window. It's one of the things that I love about Quicksilver: splat-splat-f-enter gets me Firefox. splat-splat-t-enter gets me thunderbird, etc. No mouse stupidity; no moving hands off the keyboard to change windows; no *thinking* required (yes, I know about the various splat-tab (alt-tab on Windows?) things, but they still require that I *look* at something to see how many tabs I need to press). It's all in muscle memory.

It's now so ingrained that it's painful to use a UI without Quicksilver. :(

Also, I wish knew how to program the UI so that I could move my cursor using the numeric keypad. By splitting the screen into overlapping thirds, you can get pretty specific with only about 4 keypresses. I imagine it would be really fast once your muscles got used to it. 4 keypresses can get you from 2560 pixels to less than 32. Eventually you would just "know" exactly how to get your cursor to any specific point on the screen.
